Haircare review coming up! After watching QVC, and doing a little research, I decided to invest in the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer hair treatment. There is a possibility that I took it too far by ordering the 1litre bottle, costing £55 BUT when you actually calculate it, your saving alot of money buying the 1litre instead of 500mls for £47.52. It makes sense!
I had never tried this product before, so as I was typing in my paypal details on the qvc website I thought this better bloody work or it’s getting pied back to QCV. The idea is that you wet your hair and apply the product as a pre shampoo treatment. I wanted to wait a few weeks before I blogged about this, because my first impression of using this wasn’t too positive. But oh how things change…
First use: I left the product on my damp hair for 2 hours before shampoo / conditioning my hair. I wasn’t expecting miracles, but to be honest I didn’t notice a major difference in my hair. I was expecting the treatment to feel really conditioning as I was rinsing it out, but it just felt kinda sticky. My hair just seemed it’s normal minging self- high maintainance and frizzy.
Second use: After using the product for the second time, a few days later, I still felt the same as above. My hair was still tuggy after washing. HOWEVER, I did notice that my hair looked and felt stronger than it had previously.
Fast forward to 5 or 6 washes later and I’m hooked! Again, the treatment doesn’t feel conditioning when using it, and my hair is still tuggy when wet…But when my hair is dry it’s definitely stronger, with more body and shine! I’m not going to send it back to QVC anymore.
It definitely didn’t work instantly for me, it took a good few uses until I noticed a difference in my hair. I’m not really sure why that is, but I have read other blog posts about Elasticizer and it seems to be a common theme!
What I will say is, I would definitely advise you to buy the litre bottle. Especially if you have alot of hair, it’s very easy to use alot of this product. You get much more product for your money by splashing out a little on the big bad boy bottle. It doesn’t feel as conditioning as I expected it to feel whilst on my hair, but it does provide good results.
